Adam

I was invited by my incredibly talented friend, Adam Milner, to spend a weekend in his room as part of his Bedroom Residency project in May of 2013, making anything I wanted in the time I spent in his magical space. I was in awe of the beautiful, delicate objects found in his room and how they all seemed to fit within this perfectly muted, pastel color palette. This pattern is made from some of my favorites.

This is, more or less, my portrait of Adam.

Patterns From My Past: Primary Plaid

The more I look at old photos recently, the more particularly interested in/obsessed with the patterns that I was surrounded by every day as a kid I become.

Wether it was my bedroom wallpaper, my soft ass worn out pillowcases, my mother’s coffee mug, or my favorite striped shorts… I’m starting to realize how much these simplistic, geometric, classic patterns still influence my design aesthetic today. So I’ve begun to deconstruct these old photos and recreate my favorite childhood patterns in vector form. And I ache to have them plastered on the walls of my home again.
